Ice climbing at sea level (almost)

Yes, the Rosandra creek froze, creating a 35 meter icefall just ten minutes away from Trieste.
We went there yesterday to climb it, and it was great!
Alberto just had enough time to climb and then run off, as he needed to arrange things for his trip to Aconcagua (he left this morning).


Sì, il Rosandra si è gelato, creando una cascata di ghiaccio di 35 metri a dieci minuti da Trieste.
Ci siamo stati ieri ad arrampicare, fantastico!
Alberto ha avuto appena il tempo di arrampicare e poi andare via in fretta, perchè doveva finire di organizzare le cose per il suo viaggio all'Aconcagua (è partito questa mattina).

Talking about Khumbu

On January 20 2012, Alberto will be presenting photos and talking about the Khumbu Valley trek and about Island Peak, Lobuche East and Ama Dablam.
The event will be held at 8 pm in Via Battisti 22, Trieste, at the CAI XXX Ottobre headquarters.
Entrance will be free.

Rested and ready to go again

After returning from the trip to Nepal, a bit of much needed rest was mandatory, but not too much, because projects are for a climbing trip in Thailand in January.
So after snow, down jackets and ice axes, it's time for bathing suits and towels in Krabi, one of the most popular resorts for climbing in Thailand, with hundreds of different routes, also multipitch on great limestone, and a lot of deep water soloing.

Dopo essere tornati dal viaggio in Nepal, un po' di meritato riposo è stato d'obbligo, ma non troppo, visto che è già in cantiere un viaggio per arrampicare in Thailandia a gennaio.
Quindi, dopo neve, piumini e piccozze, è ora di tirare fuori il costume da bagno e gli asciugamani a  Krabi, uno dei luoghi più conosciuti per l'arrampicata in Thailandia, con centinaia di vie, anche di più tiri, su ottimo calcare, e un sacco di deep water soloing.
