Off to Nepal

The adventure has begun!

Alberto and Jonna left yesterday morning and, via London and New Delhi they will arrive in Kathmandu, provided they are not already there as I write.

Of course, the preparations for the trip continued until the last moment, between the choice of what to bring, what to leave home and the inevitable last-minute setbacks, but in the end, with nearly fifty kilos of equipment and tools, the bulk of the work was done. The rest will be dealt with in Kathmandu.

But with the good weather there was in these last days, one could hardly think about spending days locked in the house packing bags, so Friday, taking advantage of a trip to get Alberto's new boots, they enjoyed the day on the snows of the Marmolada. A good workout in anticipation of the higher altitudes they will face in Nepal.

Alla fine l'avventura è cominciata!

Alberto e Jonna sono partiti ieri mattina, e, via Londra e Nuova Delhi arriveranno a Kathmandu, sempre che non siano già arrivati mentre scrivo.

Ovviamente i preparativi si sono protratti fino all'ultimo momento, tra la scelta di cosa portare, cosa lasciare a casa e gli immancabili contrattempi dell'ultimo minuto, ma alla fine, con quasi cinquanta chili di materiale e attrezzatura il grosso del lavoro è stato fatto. Per il resto si provvederà a Kathmandu.

Però con il bel tempo che c'è stato in questi giorni non si poteva certo pensare di passare le giornate chiusi in casa a fare le valigie, quindi venerdì, approfittando di una trasferta per prendere i nuovi scarponi di Alberto, si sono goduti la giornata sulle nevi della Marmolada. Un buon allenamento in attesa delle quote più elevate che affronteranno in Nepal.
